The 16th Annual Schubert Chorale Summer Concert

The Schubert Chorale, 50 adult, college, and high school singers, will present "All Nature Sings" for its 16th Annual Summer Concert Celebration in August 2025.

The program will begin with Franz Schubert’s lively “Lebenslust” (“Zest for Life”), which likens personal connections with others to that of the turtle dove and his cooing mate. Next, the choir will present a set of three of Franz Joseph Haydn’s choruses from his oratorio The Creation, and two beautiful new works by Elaine Hagenberg, “The Blue Ridge,” which sings of the Blue Ridge Mountains, and “This Is My Father’s World.” Interspersed throughout the program will be opportunities for the audience to sing hymns and songs both familiar and new. The beauty of the islands and the ocean will be featured in a medley from the musical South Pacific. The choir will sing of the natural beauty found "from sea to shining sea" in “America, the Beautiful," and sing "All God's Critters Got a Place in the Choir." The program will end with “Beautiful Savior,” the signature closing song of the St. Olaf College Choirs.
